Meet newly added character Jolene Coy to book three, Burn the Breeze, of the Wild Horse Run series.

"I learned a hard lesson arriving on the Evans Ranch, that woke me up and made me take a long hard look at whom I've become since my father was murdered, I don't want to be that girl anymore...."

Jolene left Kansas and her drunkard mother behind and drove west as far as her gas money would take her when she landed in Livingston, Montana; cold and hungry and homeless knowing she needs to find a job Jolene picks up a local newspaper and comes across an ad for a stall cleaner ~ horse groom position that a local ranch is advertising. Jolene calls the number on the ad and speaks to Levi Evans, the ranch owner, after a lengthy visit on the phone Levi takes a chance on Jolene and hires her for the position inviting her to come out to the ranch the next afternoon.

Once Jolene arrives she notices she is surrounded by gorgeous cowboys working the ranch and sets her sights on Wrangler McBride the barn manager who she quickly finds is unavailable and dating the ranch owners niece Bristol Ryan; Jolene doesn't heed Bristol's warning and finds herself laying on the concrete aisleway in the middle of the barn with a bloody nose; after the incident, Levi is determined to get to the bottom of who Jolene is and her reckless behavior.

Levi is shocked and heartbroken to learn Jolene's devasting past of losing her father to murder and her own mother allowing her many boyfriends to take advantage of Jolene from the age of eleven; Levi has now made it her mission to turn this young eighteen year old's life around teaching her to respect and value herself along with setting goals through hard work and determination.
